As a recommended Fly Fishing Guide for the Wye and Usk Foundation I offer a professional guiding service on the rivers and still waters of South Wales and surrounding areas. Providing guided trips for Wild Brown Trout, Salmon, Rainbow Trout and Grayling.

I am able to cater for individuals to large groups, from complete novices to seasoned anglers with guides tailored to your very own personnel needs and requirements.

Tackle and equipment can be supplied if needed on request.

Wild Brown Trout

Wild Brown Trout guiding is usually carried out in the picturesque mountains and valleys of South Wales, against the stunning backdrops of the Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains, there is no better classroom to learn new skills.  Whether you are experienced angler brushing up on your skills or complete novice taking your first steps on running water, there is always something new to learn and enjoy.

Salmon

I offer a professional guiding service for Salmon, normally on the river Usk and the famous river Wye.  So whether you are taking your first casts into the World of Fly Fishing for Salmon or a experienced angler wanting to learn new skills, I can help.  I have a wide range of quality equipment available so if you want to try the latest techniques and styles before committing,  please feel free to contact me for further information chris@castingwithstyle.co.uk.

Rainbow Trout

If you find the river is in flood or want to catch a specimen Rainbow Trout give me a call.   Whether its catching your first Trout or a day out on a drifting boat,  still water fly fishing can provide fantastic sport.

I provide a beginners course on local still waters, with casting tuition followed by an opportunity to put these new skills to the test in the afternoon with an experienced guide.

Beginners Course Outline

  • Setting up a balanced outfit (Rod, reel, line, leader and knots)
  • The Roll Cast (How and when, adapting to weather conditions)
  • Overhead Cast (How and when, adapting in weather conditions)
  • Watercraft (Fly choice, where to find the fish)
  • Landing and Handling Fish (Releasing, dispatching)
